FLAMING GRILL GUEST DESIGNS NEW MENU COMIC VILLAIN
Halesowen local, eight year old Sophie Redden, will see her villain character come to life in a comic after winning a national competition.
The competition, which was launched by pub brand Flaming Grill, asked children to design a new villain to feature in the third series of their kids menu comic. After hundreds of entries, Sophie’s Moustacheo made it through to a national online vote where she went up against four other finalists.
More than 8,400 votes were cast over a two week period and Sophie came out on top with 54% of the votes. Sophie will now visit a creative studio to see Moustacheo brought to life, as well as receive a family meal at Flaming Grill and a year’s subscription to her favourite comic as part of her prize.
Sophie’s despicable villain will be seen taking on Flaming Grill’s hero, Grill Bill in the third series of the kids menu comic. The comic will be available at 146 pubs across the UK from October, including the Lutley Oak on Stourbridge Road in Halesowen.
Bryan Wilson, General Manager at the Lutley Oak, said: “We are so proud one of our little grillers won the competition, the whole community has been voting for Sophie’s villain and we can’t wait to see Moustacheo brought to life in the next series of the kids menu comic.”
Julie Redden, Sophie’s mum, said: “I’m so happy that Moustacheo won, Sophie had such a great time coming up with him and his powers, and can’t wait to see him in the new comic book story.”
Flaming Grill is a national pub restaurant brand from Spirit Pub Company, with 146 pubs nationwide. The new kids comic menu, including Sophie’s Moustacheo, launches at the end of October.
